Review: I read the description and decided to buy a few of these for my home believing I could just connect to it via the hub and app only to be surprised by the fact that it won't set up without an unnecessary remote control device. This is a very clunky setup. I do not recommend buying this device. You can find simple and easy to setup wifi outlets online that don't require this unnecessary complexity for operating

Review: The Tradri smart plug works great, is easy to install and manage. As I already have an IKEA smart home it integrated easily into my system. The is one of the better valued small plugs for the price.

Why 3 stars? The design of the casing that holds the plug and wifi/smart hardware. It is large and bulky, it can make it so you can only use 1 outlet plug. It is due for an updated design, please.

The Home Smart App continues to improve especially the UI and features.

When I went to set it up, it said I needed the Ikea Gateway which is an additional $35. Nowhere on the display or on the website description does it say that this is needed.

Review: Works great with SmartThings. The main things it is missing are: - The load limits printed on the box - A manual on/off toggle button on the unit. Sometimes you're right next to the outlet and using an app or voice assistant is less convenient. A tad bulky but I can live with it for the price.

Review: We just bought 3 of these after finding out they work with SmartThings. One review gave advice on connecting already but I found that the easiest way is to reset the plug with a pin on the side, then add manually by searching IKEA and choose control outlet from the list and that’s it. This worked the first time on one but took a couple tries on the others. If it gets to 80% and gets stuck don’t waste your time just cancel and restart. Scanning did not work for me. No other hardware was needed besides the plug and SmartThings hub.

Review: I have a Samsung Smart things hub. I simply plugged the outlet in, let it boot, and then pressed the reset. I then set my hub to find new items and it found instantly. Works flawlessly. Only drawback is that it is a little large.

Review: I bought this for two reasons. First is to get the china cabinet on the smart home setup and eliminate the need to manually turn on and off multiple interior lights. It works perfectly for that. Second is to act as a repeater for some light bulbs that are a bit too far from my hub to link where they are. It also worked perfectly for that. I have this connected directly to my SmartThings hub and it was a pretty easy setup. Just needed to poke the reset button to get it to pairing mode & be patient in the app. The only minor complaint I have is it's a fairly sizable lump. I had to use a short flat plug extension cord to move it.

Review: I wanted to offer help to anyone else trying to connect with Smarthings (it does work without the TRADFRI gateway!): 1. Plug in the outlet close to your hub, 2. Press the outlet reset with a paperclip till you hear an click and the light flashes, 3. In the Smarthings app, and add a new device with the Scan option, 4. This is the important part: The app might say No device found at first, but I noticed that if I just let the app sit there a minute or so (don't close the app, but you can let your phone fall asleep), it eventually finds the outlet. Bulky design, but I was finally able to connect a lamp in an area of my home where smart WiFi plugs and Zigabee smart bulbs had failed in the past!
