Review: This is a very nice looking piece of furniture. I waited about 6 months for this to come back into stock and grabbed it the minute I was notified it was available. It can be put together by one person but it does take time to do so. Once together it looks great but trying to adjust the drawers to make them even especially the top one is challenging. Overall it looks good and fits nicely in my office.

Review: The instructions on how to place the drawers and to adjust them were less than desirable. The parts that need to click into place, do so with much frustration and effort. The drawers must be clicked into place with two or three pushes before they will sit flush with the cabinet. I didn't realize that and was starting to hate IKEA. I even called customer service, but they were unable to answer my questions. The rep did try really hard and was very patient and was not happy that she couldn't help. Finally 6 hours later, I think I will be happy with the unit. It was by far the hardest thing to assemble that I have ever purchased from IKEA. It will be a while before my husband will let me go back, lol!!

Review: I really like the GALANT series and have several different pieces. I like this file cabinet for several reasons. The 3 drawer height is nice because it allows placing other things on top at an accessible height (books, magazines, a printer) vs. a 4 drawer cabinet. The hanging rods in the drawers are adjustable for letter, A4, and legal size. Having size choices in one cabinet is cool (letter in 2 drawers, legal in the third). Also, the soft-closing drawers are nice. Add all that to the clean lines of the GALANT series, this is a nice cabinet.

Review: I’m returning this thing tomorrow. I’ve never been disappointed in an ikea product, but this one is trash. The entire system is dependent on a flimsy and ill designed piece of plastic that fits in the sliding assembly. It doesn’t fit the “click” in place hole and as soon as it slips out (which it will) you can not open any of the other drawers. I don’t typically leave reviews, but all should be warned against purchasing this cabinet. I’ll never get back that lost hour of time. Don’t do it!

Review: While assembly was easy and not to time consuming, I'm very disappointed in the final fit. The bottom two draws align very well but the top is far from square. After spending 20 mins trying to adjust it every way possible over and over, I've given up. It just won't square to the cabinet. Then theirs the matter of the lock. Jammed the first time I used it. Had to insert a thin screwdriver just above the top draw and easily break the locking rods. I'm back in the cabinet but what does that say about the lock? Cheap... Very disappointed in this file cabinet.

Review: IKEA has discontinued the all black filing cabinet. The cabinet two-toned black and ash/gray color. The fronts/top is black, sides/inside are a gray-ish color. The cabinet is very nice structurally but sad that the photos are deceiving and my IKEA doesn't carry this color combination. Didn't find out until I got home and opened the box. Cabinet comes in two boxes, you'll need to open both boxes at the start. Be prepared with a LOT of floor space to lay everything out.

Review: We have had this a couple of years now and it's great. It's very sturdy, and I like that only one drawer opens at a time so it'll never tip over easily. Also I love the lock. If our house is ever broken into no one will walk off with this, it's far too heavy. Excellent file cabinet. And it looks really nice.
