Review: This is a sturdy piece with drawers that glide easily. The big disappointment was that the drawers only pull out about 2/3 of the way so you lose visual and easy access to anything further back. That said, it’s still a useful and well made piece.

Review: Needed something aesthetically pleasing to hold papers and small items. Works well for that reason. It's particle board so I'm not sure about the quality long term. It uses a thin board to hold contents so it's not designed for heavy duty stuff but it is supported by adjacent pieces with indents. Overall I like it. The only thing I would change is the price due to it not being solid wood. The color ain't cheap or has higher demand I guess.

Review: I've previously assembled two or three of the smaller Alex drawer units and have had zero issues with those. This wider one, overall, is good as well -- with one note: the drawer side pieces in the one I bought are especially fragile. Perhaps the wood chip-binder mix was a little lean on adhesive when they were made? I had two of them crack near the rear when assembling per instructions (driving the plastic pins in). I was supporting the opposite side each time, so the force of driving the pins wouldn't unduly flex either side, but two cracked nonetheless. Additionally, I wasn't using a hammer, but just a relatively light screwdriver handle to drive them, and only tapping with enough force to make the pins move. I've repaired the cracks with glue, and I expect the unit to function just fine, but I do hope that this was just a one-off bad batch of parts. It's not worth making the 240-mile round-trip to exchange, so I'll live with it.
