Review: The external design of the SKOTTVIKEN 32 sink is very attractive, especially backsplash. However body of sink is made from odd material (perhaps its ceramic?) which has many surface anomalies on the bottom. In most cases, that is just a surface visual issue. However, if a surface anomaly is on a gasket - it can cause a leak. We purchased 5 of these sinks to replace sinks in a lodge, and three of them had same defect - a surface hole next to the outlet for the overflow. The overflow plumbing gasket can't properly seal against the sink. We tested the overflow in every sink by filling basin until the overflow balanced the input. When the water got to the max, a small leak appeared around the overflow for defective sinks. We will probably have to use silicone seal there to fix problem. We would return defective sinks, but our local IKEA store is 200 miles away. There are no humans at IKEA we can report problem to.

Review: I chose this sink for its rectangular bowl and its integrated backsplash. I installed a faucet from a big box company. The sink has been great. Getting it installed was. . . . shall we say, educational? I have an older home built in 1956. I had relocated the plumbing supply lines and those were problem-free. Getting the euro fittings onto the smaller standard drain in my wall was not exactly straightforward. Fortunately, there are some very helpful videos on you-tube that I studied in depth before and during installation. I found (finally) that a 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 reducer coupling would allow me to use the european drain assembly with my 1 1/4' drain pipe. Once I got over that hurdle it has been functioning perfectly ever since, and I LOVE the storage the IKEA drain assembly allows. Can't over-recommend that!

Review: Inconsistent finish on sink, many areas have a rough, bumpy finish. Invisible to the eye but felt when touched, as in cleaning. Will have to dismantlevanity and plumbing to return. Very unhappy with this purchase.

Review title: Not compatible with pre-war buildings

Review: This sink is a nightmare to install. I bought it with the Hemnes cabinet bottom thinking it was cheap/easy, and it's the opposite. I purchased it at Bolingbrook, and I live in Chicago city limits. I've had two different plumbers try to install it, and both told me it's not possible. My bathroom pipes are 1.25 which is city code, and the pipes that come with the sink are 1.5. If you try to put adapters on the pipes they stick out too far, and the drawers need to be cut down to close. I've wasted twice the cost of the vanity on plumbers and I still don't have a functional sink. I've tried calling the store, and they reroute the calls to the 1-800 number, which bounces you around to different people who can't answer any questions and won't transfer you to the store. Please please please disclose this before selling them, or offer options of different sized pipes to purchase. Such a waste of time.

Review: Purchased the sink, GODMORGON Sink cabinet with 2 drawers, and DALSKÄR Bath faucet with strainer, all at the same time from IKEA. Was installing where an existing pedestal sink was being removed. Was told by the salesman that if we bought everything, installation would be EASY. My husband and I are very adept at DIY. However, this product would not install on existing plumbing--P-trap bumps the drawer. To remedy, called in plumber. Choice to either cut back into the drywall, or cut the back of the bottom drawer. Drawer lost. Luckily looks good from the outside, and this is half bath/pool bath so company won't be going into the drawers. Overall still pleased with the styling, but wish install had been easier.
